We have the following HCP co-authors on this important paper leading by Professor Srivastava (leading endocrinologist), Professor Diker (
leading endocrinologist), Krychman (leading Obstetrics and Gynecology) Golden (Leading NP) and Dehn (Leading NP and expert in women health).
This publication marks the successful completion of a journey that began with the RESET-ELECT clinical studies and has evolved into six key
publications covering:
- General efficacy and safety (Ard et al.)
- Cardiometabolic risk factors (Bays et al.)
- Early responders (Jakicic et al.)
- Quality of life (Kusnier et al.)
- ELECT efficacy and safety extension (Kamar et al.)
- Women over 50 years (Srivastava et al.)
Why this paper is so important?
Weight gain during and after menopause is a major women’s health challenge, increasing cardiometabolic risk while becoming harder to manage
due to hormonal and metabolic changes. In this RESET sub-analysis, women ≥50 treated with the Epitomee capsule achieved 7.6% weight loss
- 4.4% with placebo at 24 weeks, with 63% achieving ≥5% and 29% achieving ≥10% weight loss, alongside significant improvements in BMI category
from baseline to week 24.
Importantly, with a safety profile comparable to placebo and no serious device-related adverse events, Epitomee may offer a valuable non-pharmacologic weight management tool for this underserved population.
